About Me
Mission Statement
My mission is to help small and medium sized organizations obtain a Website that accurately and attractively presents their organization on the internet. I do this by consulting with them, learning about their business goals, examining their internet expectations and vision and then providing them with solutions that are cost-effective and meet their goals.
Web Design and Development:
Early Beginnings: I worked as an intranet developer for a large telecommunications company where I began my education and training in web development. After three years on the job experience and training I transferred my knowledge into designing and developing web sites for small companies and organizations. Working as a free-lance web designer I meet the needs of my clients by designing sites that meet their requirements and exceed their expectations. The combination of my marketing experience and technical knowledge enables me to offer a wide-range of services to my clients.
Offering 10 years experience in Website development and design I continually update my skills to keep pace with current and best practices. I always strive to give my clients more than they expect.
Technical Skills:
I develop Websites that are W3C compliant. The W3C is an acronym for the World Wide Web Consortium. The Consortium develops specifications and standards for coding practices.
Development tools I use include:
- Flash programming: a very powerful and flexible tool that when used correctly, can provide many advantages. Flash programming will capture the attention of your site visitors and create a lasting impact with your customers.
- Javascript programming: Providing interactivity, site navigation, and web applications.
- PHP programming: Providing the means to manage dynamic data for you site.
- Forms processing: Providing the electronic link between your company and customer while gathering valuable information about your customers.
- Software: Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator
- XHTML, HTML, CSS
- AJAX - A group of technologies used to create interactive web applications and increase dynamic display allowing the user to interact with the information presented. See my FAQ page for a sample of AJAX in use.
Marketing:
I offer 20 years experience in marketing experience for both small and large organizations encompassing the following: advertising, direct mail, public relations, product promotion, copy-writing, strategic planning, and collateral design and development.
My marketing experience helps me to design Websites that compliment and focus on my customer's marketing objectives.
